The ongoing issue of plant roll-over has seen little improvement over the past 10-15 years. One of the few engineering solutions available relies on protection of the operator after the plant has rolled. Leighton Contractors and Compaction Equipment supplier Conplant worked together to design and create ROPS 2 technology. This innovation uses a level sensor device to activate an early warning system alerting operators of potential roll-overs.

The unusual shape of the wave-form roof posed an extraordinary challenge for the project safety and design team. The twin rope access system was developed and utilised to overcome this challenge.
