Women in the workplace

Leighton Contractors has introduced a range of strategies and programs to enhance the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in our business.

One of these initiatives is the Great Leaders Are Made (GLAM) program, which aims to empower women on our project sites to further develop their management and leadership skills in preparation for more senior roles.

We’re also establishing a peer mentoring network program for project-based women, and providing more flexible work options for our people.

In addition, we actively hire women for career track positions and their promotion to senior managerial roles, and through our leadership programs we’re improving the pipeline of women managers ready to move to the next level of their career.

On 29 May 2015, Leighton Contractors lodged its annual compliance report with the Workplace Gender Equality Agency and is compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 for the 2014-2015 period.
