Leighton Contractors’ HQ Development is the first building project in Queensland to be awarded a
6 Star Green Star rating for ‘Office Interiors’ by the Green Building Council of Australia.

In another demonstration of Leighton Contractors’ excellence in sustainable building construction, HQ
has achieved a 6 Star Green Star trifecta of being awarded a 6 Star Green Star – Office Design v2, a
6 Star Green Star – As Built v2 rating and now a 6 Star Green Star – Office Interiors v1.1 within the
same building.

Hugh Boyd, General Manager Northern Construction for Leighton Contractors said that from the
outset, Leighton Contractors’ aspirations for HQ was to achieve innovative, environmental
performance through economically efficient means, and set this as a catalyst for future green building
practices.

“Translating this from design through to construction and final fit-out is testament to the persistence,
drive and commitment of the HQ project team,” Mr Boyd said.

“The Green Star ratings demonstrate our commitment to our values and to continually setting the pace
for the industry in environmentally sustainable design.”

The project achieved a total of 84 points across the nine categories used to assess the environmental
impacts of the fit-out, exceeding the 75 points required to achieve a 6 Star Green Star rating.
