Leighton Contractors has been working in the ports and marine sector for more than 20 years. Our clients see us as a trusted partner and industry leader with the unique in-house capacity to deliver state-of-the-art projects in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Landmark marine projects

We have worked on some of Australia’s landmark marine projects, including the Gorgon LNG export jetty and heavy lift facility, at Barrow Island, Western Australia; the FPE Seawall at Port of Brisbane, Queensland; and the Wandoo B Concrete Gravity Structure, Western Australia.

Our ports and marine business can design and construct:

  • Bulk materials export facilities.
  • Breakwaters and seawalls.
  • Large concrete gravity structures for offshore oil platforms.
  • Install subsea pipes and cables.

We also offer clients operations and maintenance services.

“The FPE Seawall Alliance has been extremely successful, producing the innovation and teamwork that we anticipated when we made the decision to form an alliance. The Alliance team worked closely with our operational, environmental and corporate relations teams, including our engineers, dredging crews, environmental scientists and Brisbane multi-modal terminal staff, to find solutions to the unique problems encountered during the project. The seawall will guarantee the port’s future, providing the necessary land for growth with another 230 hectares of land to be created over the next 10-15 years.”

Mr Jeff Coleman, Former Chief Executive Officer Port of Brisbane.
